If you are Pro Racelab subscriber, then I highly recommend using the new VR beta version of Racelabs. It is very easy to use, and does not require additional programs, other than the Oculus computer program.
The following video guide can be used if you are NOT Racelab Pro subscription member. this will show how to use Racelab app overlay with Quest 2 or Quest 3 and iracing. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel.
Written instructions on how to setup Quest headset with Racelab overlays and iracing, if you are not Pro Racelabs.
Download Required Software:
- VC_REDIST.X64.EXE - https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redis...
- Oculus Program for Windows - https://www.meta.com/au/quest/setup/
- There are 2 options related to Default OpenXR Runtime setting we can use.. In iracing, if you only use Oculus as display mode, than Oculus can be left as Default OpenXR Runtime. This is the normal method. If you want to use OpenXR as display mode in iracing you must set SteamVR as default OpenXR runtime. This is important to understand.
- Racelab Overlays - https://racelab.app
- Crewchief - https://thecrewchief.org/forumdisplay.php?28-Download-and-Links
- Revive 1.9.1 - https://github.com/LibreVR/Revive/rel...
Optional Software:
Most important aspects of this setup are:
- YOU MUST use the Crewchief method if you have a space in your Windows usename, such as John Smith", or if you have an AMD brand graphics card.
- Be certain VC_Redist.x64.exe file has been installed on your computer. If it was not previously installed, you should uninstall Racelabs if it has been installed prior to the VC_Redist.x64.exe, and then reinstall Racelabs.
- 32 GB of computer ram is recommended for this process. Although I have made this work with only 16 GB
- Check Oculus and your graphics manufacturer for minimum specs to run VR.
Iracing Graphics:
a) Max cars must be set to 63 cars.
b) Full Screen must be turned off
If you need to start Iracing from Oculus menu: START IRACING FROM OCULUS DASH

START IRACING FROM OCULUS DASH: Instruction here:
To be able to use quest 3 without a controller is quite easy... First you need to be able to join a Link session before using the Quest. Next in the Oculus program, there is a setting that will Auto join a link session, when the headset is connected to the computer. I have that enabled. So all I need to do is this.. I start the PC, I then start the Oculus program on the computer. My headset cable is connected to the computer, but not always plugged into the headset. I first turn on the headset, without the cable plugged into it. When I am ready to join a session, I simply plug cable into headset. Then the link session is automatically started. Next I join a session of sim (iracing). I use oculus as my display mode. I select session to join and join using mouse on the screen. The session starts and I racing is on the screen. I have auto open set in racelabs for VR. I have previously created a video for users that do not have a monitor at their rig, on how to start a session from within the headset..... I really recommend NOT doing this though. I will try and find that video and send you a link about it.
