Each VR headset, has it's own setup requirements

  • Common headsets all require, a file named vc_redist.x64.exe to be installed. This is a Microsoft file required for virtual reality use.
  • A cable connection from the headset to the computer is very highly recommended for best performance.
  • HP Reverb G2, is one of the easiest VR headset to setup. It only requires Windows Mixed Reality software.
  • Keep in mind that Windows Mixed Realty is being removed from verion H2-24 of Windows 11. If using Reverb G2 headset, please set WMR as default openXR runtime.
  • Oculus Quest headsets, now only requires the Oculus program on the computer. They just need to set "Oculus" as default openXR runtime. This is done within the Oculus computer computer program. Click settings and then general to find it.

If you are Pro Racelab subscriber

If you are Pro Racelab subscriber, then I highly recommend using the new VR version of Racelabs. It is very easy to use, and does not require additional programs, other than the Oculus computer program, ort whatever program your headset uses to connect to the computer.  The main Racelab version stays the same. All you need is the new VR component of Racelab app  -  Download here https://dl.racelab.app/Racelab%20VR-v3.0.8.msi
