Tools & Downloads – Scottozy’s Unofficial RaceLab Support

Tools & Downloads

This page brings together everything you might want to download for RaceLab and this site: the official app, overlays, PDF guides and helper scripts. Anything on this page is here to save you time when setting up or fixing your sim racing tools.

Important: This is an unofficial community site. Always trust the official RaceLab download and documentation first. Files shared here are used at your own risk; read the notes before running any script or executable.

2. Scottozy overlay packs

These layouts are built to be simple, readable and easy to adapt. They are created from real support cases and tuned for clarity more than “fancy graphics”.

Pack Target use Status Notes
RaceLab Overlay Pack – Scottozy v1 iRacing road / oval, single screen or triples Planned Clean “learning” HUD: Relative, Fuel, Flags, optionally Radar and basic Standings. Designed to be easy on FPS and easy to follow in coaching streams.

When these packs are ready, this page will link directly to the .zip files with clear instructions for importing them into RaceLab.

3. PDF guides and cheat-sheets

Some topics are easier to print or keep on a second monitor. This section will hold small PDFs built from the pages on this site.

Guide What it covers Ideal for
RaceLab – Getting Started (PDF) Installation, sign-in, first overlays, and quick sim-by-sim window mode checklist. New users who want a “follow this once” sheet next to their rig.
Overlay & Layout Basics Relative, Standings, Fuel, Radar, track map and lap-time tools with screenshots and short explanations. Anyone building their first proper HUD layout.
Performance & FPS Quick Tips How to keep overlays light, what to turn down in sims, and common GPU/CPU bottlenecks to watch out for. Users suffering FPS drops when enabling overlays or streaming.

As these PDFs are generated, download links will appear here and on the relevant topic pages (Getting Started, Overlays & Layouts, Troubleshooting, etc.).

4. Helper scripts & utilities

Below are small utilities that can help with backups, diagnostics or common RaceLab problems. They are meant for reasonably confident Windows users.

Tool Type What it does Safety notes
RaceLab Settings Backup Batch file / script Copies your RaceLab layouts, VR sets and config files to a dated backup folder so you can restore them after a reinstall or new PC. Check the paths inside the script before use. Always keep at least one manual copy made with File Explorer as a fallback.
Port 8080 Checker Batch file / PowerShell Checks which program is using port 8080 (RaceLab’s local web server) and helps you identify conflicts with other tools. Read the instructions in the script comments. It only reads process info; it does not kill tasks automatically.
ShopFactory Website Backup Helper Batch file Creates a quick copy of the RaceLab support website directories before large content changes or theme edits. Review target drive and folder names carefully so you do not overwrite an important backup by accident.

5. Staying safe with downloads

  • Prefer the official RaceLab downloads for the app, VR components and sim-specific plugins.
  • Treat any third-party scripts or overlays (including mine) as community tools – useful, but not guaranteed or supported by the RaceLab developers.
  • Keep one clean manual backup of your RaceLabApps folder and your sim config folders before testing new layouts or utilities.

Over time this page will become the hub for everything you might want to download for RaceLab and this support site. If you find a tool that saves your day, consider sharing it so it can be added here for others.
