Basic setup for G2 to use overlays in iRacing, if you are not Pro Racelab Subscriber and not using VR Beta.

  1. You must ensure you have previously downloaded and installed VC_REDIST.X64.EXE from Microsoft. If you run the file and it says it is already installed, that is fine to continue. If it was not installed, a computer restart is needed after it is installed.
  2. G2 initial setup should have already been done. Plug power cable into connection box, that leads to USB port, and G2 will open Windows Mixed Reality (WMR)
  3. Steam and SteamVR should no longer be needed with the new Racelab VR integration.
  4. Please keep Windows Mixed Reality to be your default OpenXR Runtime. If it is not already the default, you will see a link appear when headset start, to say it is not and give option to "FIX IT" so click Fix it
  5. Start iRacing -->> Choose OpenXR as your iRacing display mode from top menu of iRacing -->> join a practice session.
  6. IRacing will finish loading and you should now see it inside headset.
  7. Lift headset up and start Racelabs. First look at bottom of Racelab app on computer. Next to the words Start VR, click the down arrow. You can then choose the overlays you want to see in VR.
  8. You will not see any overlays on the monitor. All overlays needed in VR view are enabled via the Settings button next to the start VR button at the bothtom of Racelab App.
