Advanced Panel Overlay

The Advanced Panel is your “core performance” dashboard — designed to keep key numbers in one place without relying on the in-sim HUD. [1]

Category: Core Performance Best for: In-race focus Pairs well with: Relative / Standings

Setup

  1. Start your sim first and enter a session (practice/qualifying/race).
  2. Launch RaceLab, then enable Advanced Panel from the overlays list.
  3. Place the panel in your normal “eye line” (so you glance, not stare).
  4. If numbers don’t update: re-check the game integration/plugin, then restart the sim once.
Triples/ultrawide: keep it inside the centre-screen “safe zone” so it stays readable through corners.

Practical tips

  • Prioritise readability: bigger numbers beat extra widgets every time.
  • Keep core overlays consistent across games so your eyes learn the layout.
  • Borderless/Windowed is usually the most stable option for overlays on Windows.

Known issues & quick fixes

  • Visible but values are stuck: restart the sim; then start RaceLab after you’re already in-session.
  • Scaling looks wrong: check Windows display scaling and confirm the sim resolution didn’t change.
  • Triples break after changing video options: configure triples first, save, restart the sim, then enable overlays.

FAQ

Can I run this with other overlays?
Yes — it pairs well with Relative/Standings for context, and a fuel/strategy overlay for decisions.

Do I need the in-sim HUD?
No — many drivers turn the HUD off and rely on RaceLab overlays instead (depends on the sim and mode).
