Advanced Panel
A compact “all-in-one” overlay for core driving data — designed to be readable at a glance and great for streaming.
[4]
Pro vs Free (important): The
Layouts module is unlocked with a
Professional membership.
If you don’t have Pro, focus on opening the overlay and using the basic settings — do not worry about layout editing.

What the Advanced Panel shows
Core driving info
- RPM / shift lights (rev LEDs) [4]
- Speed + gear (easy glance view) [4]
- Extra “middle widgets” / “info bar widgets” (configurable) [2]
Why it’s in “Core Performance & Telemetry”
- If telemetry is missing, this overlay goes blank fast — it’s an instant warning that data isn’t reaching RaceLab.
- It can be light and stable, but loading too many widgets can add cost on slower PCs (especially while streaming).
Best use: Keep Advanced Panel as your “primary glance overlay”, then add one or two specialist overlays only if you need them.
Open & basic setup (works for all users)
- Start your sim and enter an active session (telemetry is best tested while driving).
- Open RaceLab → find the Advanced Panel overlay → click Open.
- If it appears but is in the wrong place, use the overlay move/position controls (keep it simple first).
- Confirm the basic readouts update (RPM/speed/gear). If they don’t: jump to Common fixes.
Pro note: If you’re Professional, the Layouts module gives you the full layout editor workflow.
If you’re not Professional, don’t chase layout features — focus on “overlay opens + data updates”.

Quick visual (example layout)
Tip: keep only the widgets you actually read — fewer widgets = cleaner + lighter.

Optional: When you have good screenshots, add them to this page later as a gallery.
(We will only add images once they exist in your media folder — no broken image icons.)
Common fixes
Advanced Panel is open, but it’s blank / not updating
- Confirm you are in an active session (not just menus).
- Close and reopen the overlay.
- Restart the sim and RaceLab (clean restart fixes many “stuck” states).
Advanced Panel disappears when changing sessions
RaceLab has previously fixed an Advanced Panel issue related to switching sessions; if you hit it again, a clean restart is the fastest test.

VR / special display mode
If you use VR mode features, remember there is a dedicated toggle shortcut in RaceLab. (Shortcuts below.)
[3]
Useful shortcuts (RaceLab)
These shortcuts have appeared in RaceLab release notes and can be extremely handy when you need to quickly hide overlays or toggle VR mode.
[3]
- Show / Hide overlays: CTRL + SHIFT + H
- Lock / Unlock overlays: CTRL + SHIFT + L
- VR mode on/off: CTRL + SHIFT + V
If the shortcuts don’t respond, check your RaceLab version and whether you have conflicting hotkey tools running in the background.
