RaceLab Overlays – Free vs Pro & Streaming Features
This page gives a human-readable overview of the main RaceLab overlays and
streaming features: what they do, which ones are available in the free vs Pro
plans, and which are especially useful for streaming layouts and broadcasts.
RaceLab changes quickly, so think of this page as a “living snapshot” of the
overlay ecosystem, not a legal contract. It’s based on official docs, public
release notes, and long-running community guides. Where there’s uncertainty,
it’s marked clearly instead of guessed.
Free – available in the Basic plan.
Pro – requires a Pro subscription.
Streaming – mainly for OBS / live broadcasts.
Source: confirmed in official RaceLab materials.
Source: long-running community reviews / docs.

Shows your Twitch chat directly on screen – either inside your driving view
or only on the broadcast. Messages can fade out so your view doesn’t get cluttered.
- Supports Twitch emotes.
- Configurable font size, message lifetime and alignment.
- Can be combined with different layouts (race / just-chatting).
A cleaner overlay that shows one highlighted chat message at a time – ideal
for Q&A segments or spotlighting viewer comments.
- Pairs nicely with the full chat overlay.
- Designed to sit above or beside standings / cameras.
Simple text banner controlled from the app – for “BRB”, sponsor lines,
event hashtags or league announcements.
- Multi-line support and basic styling options.
- Can be toggled via scene/hotkeys in OBS.
Browser-source overlay that loads any URL you give it. Common uses:
league logos, sponsor images, or external widgets.
- Good for logo bugs, webcam frames or Discord widgets.
- Lets you re-use overlays between different scenes.
Note: any normal RaceLab overlay (Standings, Advanced Panel, etc.)
can also be added to OBS as a browser source using its overlay URL. The dedicated
streaming overlays above are extras that make chat and static graphics easier.
How up-to-date is this page?
Overlay names and Pro-only items are checked against the public RaceLab homepage,
Garage release notes, and long-running sim-racing reviews. Features and limits
can change with new builds, so always treat this as a guide – not an official
price list. If something looks different in your RaceLab app, the app is right
and this page is simply due for an update.
