Beginner Guide – F1 25 Telemetry with RaceLab and SimHub
Hi, it’s Scottozy 👋
In this guide I’ll walk you through, step by step, how to get F1 25
sending telemetry to your PC, so that SimHub dashboards work properly. I’ll also explain
what is and isn’t possible right now with RaceLab.
This is written for complete beginners – no networking knowledge needed. Just follow each section slowly.
1. What you need before we start
- F1 25 installed and working (PC, Xbox or PlayStation).
- A Windows PC on the same network as your console or game PC.
- SimHub installed on your Windows PC (latest version).
- RaceLab app installed on the same PC (for overlays).
- PC and console connected to the same home router / Wi-Fi.
Tip: If things don’t work later, 80% of the time it’s because the console and PC are
not actually on the same network (for example, one is on “Guest Wi-Fi”).
2. Step 1 – Find your PC’s IP address
F1 25 needs to know where to send the telemetry. We will give it the IP address of the PC
running SimHub (and RaceLab).
- On your Windows PC, press Windows Key + R.
- Type
cmd and press Enter – a black window opens.
- Type
ipconfig and press Enter.
-
Scroll until you see your active network adapter (usually “Ethernet” or “Wi-Fi”).
Look for IPv4 Address, for example
192.168.0.50.
- Write that IPv4 address down – we’ll use it in F1 25 and SimHub.
Example: If you see IPv4 Address . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.34,
then your PC IP is 192.168.1.34.
3. Step 2 – Turn on telemetry in F1 25
Now we tell the game to send data out over the network.
- Start F1 25.
- On the main menu, go to Options > Settings.
- Open the Telemetry Settings screen.
- Set UDP Telemetry to On.
-
Set UDP IP Address to your PC’s IPv4 address
(for example
192.168.1.34).
-
Set UDP Port to 20777
(or another port, but remember the number – SimHub must match it).
-
Set UDP Send Rate to something like 20 Hz or
60 Hz. Higher = more frequent updates.
-
Set UDP Format (or Game telemetry format) to 2025.
This is the official F1 25 format and is what SimHub expects.
- Leave UDP Broadcast Mode set to Off for now.
- Back out of the menu so the settings are saved.
At this point F1 25 is ready to talk to SimHub on your PC, using the right port and format.
4. Step 3 – Set up SimHub for F1 25
Now we tell SimHub to listen for that data.
- Open SimHub on your PC.
- Check for updates and make sure you’re on a recent version.
-
Go to the section where you choose the current game
(usually the Games tab or similar).
- Select F1 25 as the game in SimHub.
-
Find the UDP Port setting for F1 25 in SimHub and set it to 20777
(or whatever port you chose in the game).
- Apply / save the settings in SimHub.
-
Now start a session in F1 25 (time trial or practice) and drive out of the pits so the game is running.
-
Watch SimHub – it should show F1 25 as Connected, and your dashboards,
LEDs, and bass shakers should begin reacting.
If SimHub still says “waiting for connection”, double check:
- The IP address in F1 25 exactly matches your PC.
- The UDP Port number matches in both F1 25 and SimHub.
- Windows firewall or antivirus is not blocking SimHub.
5. Where RaceLab fits in (current reality)
RaceLab overlays also read telemetry. For other sims (like iRacing, LMU etc.) this works great.
For F1 25, things are still catching up.
Right now, SimHub expects F1 25 to use the modern UDP Format 2025.
RaceLab, at the time of writing, still understands the older F1 telemetry formats from previous games.
In plain English:
- SimHub wants:
UDP Format = 2025 → works properly.
- RaceLab fully supports: the older F1 formats → not 100% aligned with 2025 yet.
That means there is currently no perfect one-click setup where both SimHub and RaceLab
are fully happy with F1 25 at the same time using the official format.
6. Your best options right now
Option A – Prioritise SimHub (recommended for most people)
This is what I recommend for most beginners:
- Run F1 25 with UDP Format = 2025 for full SimHub support.
- Enjoy SimHub dashboards, LEDs, and bass shakers during F1 25.
- Use RaceLab overlays mainly with sims that are fully supported right now (iRacing, LMU, etc.).
Think of RaceLab for F1 25 as “work in progress” – keep an eye on RaceLab updates and patch notes.
Option B – Experiment with older formats (advanced, not beginner-friendly)
Some advanced users experiment with:
- Forcing F1 25 to send an older UDP format (for example from a previous game), and
- Trying to make RaceLab and SimHub both understand that older format.
This can lead to:
- Wrong data in SimHub.
- Partially working overlays in RaceLab.
- Breakage every time the game or apps update.
Because of that, I don’t recommend this for beginners. It’s a rabbit hole.
Option C – Wait for native F1 25 support in RaceLab
Long-term, the clean solution will be:
- RaceLab adds full support for F1 25’s UDP 2025 format.
- F1 25 stays on UDP Format = 2025.
- Both SimHub and RaceLab read the same modern telemetry data.
When that day comes, this page will be updated with a short “turn it on here, select F1 25 in RaceLab,
done” section.
7. Quick checklist if it’s not working
Run through this list if you get stuck:
- In F1 25 Telemetry Settings:
- UDP Telemetry = On
- UDP IP Address = your PC IPv4 address
- UDP Port = same number as SimHub (for example 20777)
- UDP Send Rate = 20–60 Hz
- UDP Format = 2025
- UDP Broadcast Mode = Off
- In SimHub:
- Latest version installed.
- Game set to F1 25.
- UDP Port matches F1 25.
- Shows Connected when you are on track.
- RaceLab:
- Installed and logged in.
- Overlays working in other supported sims (iRacing, LMU, etc.).
- Understand that F1 25 support with UDP 2025 is still in progress.
8. Short summary from Scottozy
For now, the most stable and least painful setup is:
- Use F1 25 with UDP Format 2025 to keep SimHub happy.
- Enjoy RaceLab overlays on sims that are fully supported today.
- Watch out for RaceLab updates that mention F1 25 or UDP 2025 support.
When RaceLab has full native support for F1 25, I’ll update this guide so you can
run both together cleanly with just a few clicks.
If you get stuck, grab screenshots of your F1 25 telemetry screen and SimHub settings,
then reach out – it’s much easier to help when I can see the numbers.
