Select the Correct Simulation Game
Before using Racelabs, confirm that the correct sim game is selected in the upper-right corner of the app. This ensures that overlays and features load properly.
Complete the Required First-Time Setup
Each supported sim game has its own initial setup steps, which may include adding files to specific game folders.
You can view these “First Steps” instructions either directly within the Racelabs app or by clicking the ? icon at the top of the app.
Setting Up iRacing
iRacing is generally the easiest sim to configure. The required settings are found in iRacing’s Graphics options.
To access these, you must first join a session—a Test or Practice session is recommended (avoid joining an active race). Once in the session, open Options → Graphics.
Disable Fullscreen Mode in All Sim Games
Overlays will not display in fullscreen mode because they get hidden behind the game window.
Make sure your sim game is set to Windowed or Borderless Windowed mode.
Join a Session to Display Overlays
Overlays only appear when you are actively in a game session. (Layouts work differently and can be explained later.)
Adding and Positioning Overlays
Join a game session.
Open Racelabs and choose a free overlay to add. Overlays marked with a small icon are Pro-only, so avoid these unless you have a Pro subscription.
Once selected, the overlay should appear on your monitor.
At the bottom of the Racelabs app, you’ll see a padlock icon. Click the padlock to unlock overlay positioning.
Move the overlay to your desired location on the screen.
Click the padlock again to lock it in place. This prevents the overlay from moving and allows you to interact normally with the game behind it.
