This page helps you set up RaceLab for iRacing, fix missing overlays, reduce stutters/FPS drops, and post the right info to get help fast. Follow the checklist in order and test after every change.
VR note: RaceLab VR features require a Pro subscription.
Setup checklist (iRacing + RaceLab)
- Restart Windows (clears stale overlays and device hooks).
- For the first test, disable other overlays/capture/OSD.
- Start iRacing and load into a session.
- Start RaceLab after iRacing is running.
- Enable one overlay window first. Confirm it updates, then add more.
Best diagnostic: confirm “iRacing + RaceLab only” is stable before adding OBS/capture/OSD back in.
Telemetry / “No data” (blank overlays)
If an overlay window exists but stays empty, RaceLab may not be receiving live data yet.

If the overlay is “invisible”: use Overlay Not Showing[1]
Overlays & layout (triples / multi-window)
- Set your iRacing video/multi-monitor settings first, then place overlays after.
- Confirm your Windows Primary monitor (overlays often spawn based on the primary display).
- If a layout breaks after video changes: restart iRacing, then re-open RaceLab and re-place overlays.
Common rule: game display configuration first, overlays second.
Performance (FPS drops / stutters)
- Test with only iRacing + RaceLab running.
- Disable overlays one-by-one to find the “expensive” overlay/window.
- Add capture/OBS last (capture pipelines can be the real FPS hit).
- If stutters persist: check Known Conflicts[2].
